Do not deceive yourselves.

you thinks he is wise…he should become

//02.01.09-02.07.09// (1 Cor. 3:18)

1. Read 1 Corinthians 1:1-9

 Background: Paul is writing his 2nd letter to the church in Corinth (we do not have the 1st letter, but we know he wrote one
previous to 1 Corinthians, see 1 Cor. 5:9) after receiving reports from several people that the church in Corinth was reverting
back to its old ways of partiality, division, jealousy, and sexual immorality. In the introductory paragraphs to his letter, it's
interesting to see that this is a very knowledgeable group of people (1:5) and very spiritually gifted (1:7). Yet despite their
spiritual knowledge and spiritual giftings they were still returning to their old ways of sin. And throughout the rest of 1
Corinthians Paul will expose these 'old ways' of sin and call the believers of Corinth to turn from their sin and return to Jesus!

2. Write a letter to Jesus.

 Read 1 Corinthians 3:18.
o Are you willing to be a ‘fool’ for Jesus? Are you willing to take a stand for
Christ when no one else will? In this letter, tell God know how much of a
‘fool’ you will be for Him. Or if you don’t want to be a ‘fool’ for Him, tell Him.
 Most of all, be honest – this is between you and God – no one else will ever read it

(use the back of this page if you need more space for your letter to Jesus)
