Apple Cream Cheese Coffee Cake

1 3-oz pkg. cream cheese 4 Tbsp. butter 2 c. packaged biscuit mix (bisquick) 1/3 c. milk 1/2 c. fruit filling * __________________________ ICING: (optional) 1c. sifted confectioners sugar 1 to 2 Tbsp. milk 1/2 tsp. vanilla Cut in cream cheese and butter into biscuit mix till crumbly, you can use a fork or a pastry blender for this. Blend in the milk. Turn onto floured surface; knead 8 to 10 strokes. Roll dough to 12 x 8 inch rectangle. Turn onto greased baking sheet. Spread fruit filling down center of dough. Make 2 1/2 inch cuts at 1 inch intervals on long sides. Fold strips over filling. Bake in 425 degree oven for 12 to 15 minutes. Combine sugar, milk and vanilla; drizzle on top. *May use canned pie filling. If using apple pie filling, 1/2 t cinnamon could be sprinkled under or over the apple filling before closing the top of the coffee cake.
