Join Progressive Democrats of America and Friends for a Party in Washington, D.C. on Saturday, January 19, 2013 for "An Evening of Community, Comedy, and Celebration to help build PDA in 2013!" The party starts from 5-7 p.m. at Busboys and Poets restaurant at 2021 14th Street Northwest in Washington, D.C. Busboys and Poets is a restaurant, community gathering place, bookstore, poetry and "where people can discuss issues of social justice and peace." Meet in Langston Hughes Room at Busboys and Poets in Washington, D.C. (Two block walk from U St. Metro station - and Green/Yellow lines). The name Busboys and Poets refers to American poet Langston Hughes, who worked as a busboy at the Wardman Park Hotel in the 1920s, prior to gaining recognition as a poet. Be treated to a night of laughs courtesy of Rick Overton - an Emmy Award Winner, American screenwriter, actor and comedian and self claiming imperfectionist Overton's writing credits include Dennis Miller Live and acting credits include being "The Drake" in Seinfeld, Groundhog Day (Ralph), plus appearing in Willow and The Secret Adventures of Jules Verne.
