THE PATRICKS

Whether or not we saw you in 2012, we hope you know how much we appreciate your friendship, love, and encouragement. We know that without our family and friends, life just wouldn’t be as meaningful. We are so grateful for each of you. For us, 2012 was the year of putting down roots. Since 2004, we have called Phoenix home without actually living here. After years of being away at college or in Mexico, we are happy to be putting our roots down together for the first time. Buying a home and spending time with family this year are just some of the highlights; you can read about the rest of our year on the next page. We hope you had a great year too. Please let us know what’s been going on in your world, you can email us (brittanyxpatrick@gmail.com) or message us on Facebook. Thanks for reading and here’s to 2013!

2012

Mr. and Mrs. Gallagher
We went to California to celebrate with the happy couple, Brianna and Shaun. Dustin was honored to officiate their beautiful beach wedding near the pier in San Clemente, CA.

We Bought a House
After years of living in the desert, on the beach, and in apartments, we bought our very own home in the Northwest part of Peoria, AZ. After replacing the floors and painting the entire interior, we are proud new homeowners. Big thanks to all of our family that helped out, especially Brittany’s Dad (Pat) who spent hours making sure every paint line was absolutely perfect.

Family Road Trip
A few months later we returned to California to kick off a family road trip. We started at Disneyland, enjoyed a day at the beach, and then off to Vegas for two days. After a quick stop at the Hoover Dam, we headed home, tired but rested. We traveled with Ryan and Jill and hung out with Shonda, Dexter, Shelbie, Katie, and Curtis along the way.

1Mission
1MISSION had a year of serious growth. We are now building houses in different parts of the world, we raised over $40k in our annual bike ride (207Miles.com), and we hosted our first annual Gala, which brought in more than $100k to fund our operation costs. Hoffman’s Retirement
Congratulations to Grammy and Pops (Brenda and Kirby Hoffman) on their retirement. After years of hard work, they are enjoying some rest and relaxation in beautiful Prescott, AZ.

Katie’s Ironman
Some congratulations are in order for Katie (Brittany’s sister) for finishing thundering the Arizona Ironman in just 13 hours. That’s a 2.4-mile swim, a 112mile bike, and a 26.2-mile run. Even though this confirms her insanity, we are all extremely proud to have a real life Ironman in the family.

Dustin’s Travels
Dustin had a very international 2012. On separate trips he went to El Salvador, Nicaragua, and Austria. The first two were trips for 1MISSION, meeting with potential partner organizations. He also spent a week in Austria doing some volunteer photo/video work for our church.

And More
A lot more happened in 2012. Thanks to our friends Matt and Erika Russell, we got to tour Luke Air Force Base and try out the F-16 simulators. Our dear friend Yazmin turned 15 and we celebrated her quinceañera with her in Rocky Point. We celebrated our 5-year anniversary in the beautiful mountains of Sedona, AZ. Congratulations to Sue (Brittany’s mom) and Jim - they got married! We also went to California to celebrate Curtis’ (Brittany’s sister’s husband) graduation from Azusa Pacific University with his Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy. We are also super excited that Katie and Curtis moved to Phoenix this summer.

Grandma Turns 100
Grandma Patrick (Dustin’s Dad’s mother) is officially one century old. The whole family spent a weekend in Colorado Springs celebrating together. Congrats to the birthday girl; it was great to get to see so many people we haven’t seen in years.
