Notice of Chick–fil–A town hall

Dear fellow CR’s, students and members of the UNM community, recently there have been attempts by a couple of special interests groups on campus who have been fighting for the removal of the Chick–fil–A restaurant in our Student union building. We need to stand in strong support of Chick–fil–A and address the facts. Our university is diverse and represents students of all backgrounds and does not cater to a specific group or set of individuals. Our CR chapter in itself is diverse as it has ever been, we do not discriminate against the LGBTQ community, we are about fair representation. There are approximately 28,000 students on our central campus; let’s make sure our elected ASUNM student senators are also aware. We must make sure all voices of our student body are heard before any rumored decision on removal takes place. We hope you will join us for this town hall that will take place in the SUB, on Tuesday January 22, 2013 in the Atrium. It is open to the public, and it starts at 12pm. Again, we need as much support we can get, as the College Republicans we recognize we may not be the most popular force on campus, but we want all voices to be heard.

Respectfully,

Brandon Aragon

APPROVED BY UNM CR CHAPTER PRESIDENT, ALYSSA PEREZ, ON SATURDAY JANUARY 18, 2013
