The status of women throughout history has been they are considered below men. In society, they are more often given the position of a lower paying job than a man. A woman can have a college degree in a certain line of work and apply for the position, not get the position, but a man the same age as the woman without a college degree can get that position with no questions asked. That old saying “A woman’s place is in the kitchen”, sad to say but many groups and even religions still believe that. Sometimes in areas women are kept from the outside world to take care of the home and have children. A woman can do a job just as good as a man if not better in many cases.
