Honorable Alex B. Morse Mayor of Holyoke City Hall Holyoke, MA 01040 RE: Resignation effective 2/1/2013

Dear Mayor, It is with great sadness that I submit my letter of resignation. For personal and professional reasons I have decided that I need to return to my private practice. Thank you for giving me this unbelievable opportunity to serve the city I love. It has been very exciting being part of a team working to make Holyoke a more equitable, vibrant, productive city for all of our residents. Though this year has had challenges, I am proud of what I’ve been able to accomplish at the Law Department. I made progress helping other city departments comply with city and state laws. I revamped the Law Department’s protocols to better track our caseload and improve efficiency of services. I have also saved Holyoke thousands of dollars by maintaining cases in house. I am most proud of my staff at the Law Department, and our growth together. I am always dedicated to Holyoke, and I am available to you and all the departments for any questions or help that I can provide as long as you serve. Again, thank you for giving me this opportunity. I have been very impressed with how you have helped this City move forward and wish you the very best in the months and years to come. Respectfully, Elizabeth Rodriguez-Ross City Solicitor
