STATEMENT FROM SENATOR MICHAEL GIANARIS IN REMEMBRANCE OF MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. “Today, as we inaugurate our nation’s first African-American president to his second term, we honor the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., who expanded the possibilities for so many hardworking individuals whose options in life were limited solely because of the color of their skin. Dr. King’s perseverance made us a more loving and introspective people, and, as a representative of one of the most diverse communities in the world, I am humbled by what we continue to achieve together. Our ability to learn from each other and work together has created a more respectful, caring society that will keep Dr. King’s legacy alive forever.” ### http://www.scribd.com/SenatorMikeGianaris www.gianaris.nysenate.gov
