By Iza I remember a few years back, my mom enrolled my sister and I in a 3-day cooking class in Bangi, and we learned to make various dishes - both savoury and sweet. One of the savoury dishes was Briyani Rice, which turned out to be the most complicated recipe we’ve learned during the class (or so it seemed)! There were so many ingredients and steps involved that I couldn't be bothered to listen to the chef because I have always been more interested in recipes that are quick and easy to prepare. I thought to myself, "I probably will never make my own briyani rice but that's ok. Just buy from mamak lah". But here I am, 4 years later, making my own briyani rice! This Dhal Briyani Rice recipe is like a balanced meal and loaded with protein (chicken and dhal), and vitamins and minerals (cashew nuts and raisins). It’s a lot easier than the one I learned from, thanks to MAGGI Briyani Rice Mix (don’t worry, there’s no added MSG in it)! Here's what you need to make Dhal Briyani Rice:
