If. I think the optimal mindset is where the investigator can take all the evidence from a crime scene and come up with the answer without getting emotionally involved in the crime or be bias in the investigation. when the crime took place. however. What is the optimal mindset of an investigator and how are the concepts associated with the optimal mindset of an investigator manifest? The optimal mindset of an investigator is someone that can look for the reason behind the crime and be able to process the evidence collected and come up with the answer in a quick and timely manner. and how for example who is the victim or suspect. why it happened and how it happened. Methods of inquiry used in criminal investigation are who. this does not happen I believe things may be overlooked in the investigation. an example of this would be gathering evidence from databases. . I don’t think this mindset is automatic but I believe it can be developed through proper training. Another example would be the gathering of evidence from a crime scene. when. where. The method of inquiry must be used to reconstruct the past. In my own opinion.1. What are methods of inquiry and how are they used in criminal investigation? A method of inquiry must be based on gathering observable practical evidence subject to reasoning. This is used to figure out the identity of the perpetrator. where it took place. what is or was the problem. why. what. 2.

The fourth is to test your idea by doing experiments. Examples of documents are ransoms. analyzing. or the . documents. The steps to the scientific method are. The scientific method is used by criminal investigators to determine who committed the crime. and where it happened. Lastly examine your data and come to a conclusion as to who you think did it . and solving problems in an objective manner. Discuss the three primary sources of information for criminal investigators and provide detailed practical examples of each source listed. tool marks and drugs are all examples of evidence. DNA. Family members and other criminals can help in the process of the investigation. receipts. why the crime occurred. when it occurred. People such as informants and witnesses can also be a source of information from which one can conduct the investigation. how they did it. and other types of businesses.
