Valentine's Day or Saint Valentine's Day is an occasion celebrated on February 14 by both the muggle's world and the wizarding world. It is the traditional day on which lovers express their love for each other by sending Valentine's cards, presenting flowers, or offering sweets.

The Great Hall of Hogwarts is decorated with large, lurid pink flowers. Heart-shaped confetti was falling from the pale blue ceiling. Gilderoy Lockhart which is the appointed professor for the Defence Against the Dark Arts lesson on that time wearing lurid pink robes to match the decorations. He organize the event on where he hired dozen dwarfs wearing golden wings and carrying harps to make them look like cupids. All day long, the dwarfs kept barging into the classes to deliver valentines, and become annoyance to the teachers.
Harry Potter's first kiss is with Cho Chang. Harry Potter starts dating Cho Chang on their second Hogsmeade visit for the 1995-1996 school year. On Hogsmeade they saw a large poster with ten pictures of escaped Death Eaters, one of them is Bellatrix Lestrange. Cho noticed that when Sirius Black is escaped in 1993 there were hundred of Dementors patroling in Hogsmeade and Hogwarts but on that time that ten Death Eaters had escaped, there aren’t any single dementor is present. Later, the two decided to drink coffee in Madam Puddifoot's Tea Shop where there a number of golden cherubs that were hovering over each of the small, circular tables, occasionally throwing pink confetti over the occupants. Harry was reminded unpleasantly of Umbridge’s office. The tea shop was full of nothing but couples, all of them holding hands, including Roger Davies and his girlfriend. The sight made Harry feel uncomfortable and Cho expecting him to hold her hand.
