Maeroa Intermediate School 54 Churchill Ave HAMILTON February 4, 2012 Dear Room 9 Class Member, I am writing to you to tell

you a little bit about myself. My first name is Candy and my surname is Hart. I was born in Paeroa and lived on a dairy farm until I was eight. My family then moved to several different places until we ended up in Omokoroa, which is a small town outside Tauranga. I have two siblings, a niece and two nephews. My niece now lives in Perth and is going to have a baby in June. My eldest nephew is overseas with his partner and my youngest is going to start university this year. Before becoming a teacher I attended Lincoln College to gain qualifications in horticulture. I worked on orchards and in a garden centre before coming to Hamilton where I studied to become qualified as a teacher. My first teaching job was in Christchurch, and then I moved back to Hamilton. I have taught at Leamington Primary and St Andrews Middle School (Hamilton Junior High). This is my first year teaching at Maeroa Intermediate School and I am very excited to be here. In my leisure time I enjoy gardening, fishing, going to the beach, biking, playing and watching all kinds of sport and going out with friends. At the moment I am learning how to surf!!! Hockey is my main sport. I have been lucky enough to have been selected to play for Waikato, Midlands and for the New Zealand Presidents Team. Animals are great! I would have a whole house filled with animals if I could. At the moment I have five cats. I am looking forward to working with you this year and having lots of fun! Kind regards Candy Hart Classroom Teacher
