This year part of your English homework is to keep a journal.
•A journal is a place that you can practise your writing skills. •You can practise: •using VCOP •different text types (instructions, persuasive, narrative, diary, information, explanation, biography) •different styles (comic strip, posters, graphics, illustration, collage)
What will you write about? - Whatever you want!
•Yourself - your day, your feelings, your thoughts, opinions and ideas •The World - Have you been struck by something on the news, a TV programme, a community issue, an environmental issue? •You can write fiction or non-fiction. •You can write about what you are reading. •If you are completely stuck, we will have ideas for you.
Of course there are a few rules:
✴You must make one entry a week - you might write it all in one go or
a little bit every day. ✴Each entry should have a date and title, underlined. ✴Don’t use textas as they will bleed through to the other side of the page. ✴Your journal should be presented neatly. Your journal will be looked at every 5 weeks or so, and graded for effort.
