- Dermis shows a hyalinized keloidal scar with peripheral chronic inflammation. - Lesion is composed of collagenous tissue, positive with vimentin and free of histiocytes (negative CD 68). - Overlying epidermis shows central ulceration with a cup-shaped trangular dermal necrotic area correspoding to intralesional injection ( of steroid, a common office procedure for treatment of keloid).
