Self test-13 Basaloid lesions

Case 1. M 67, forehead

1. Lobules of dark basaloid cells with focal cystic areas in the dermis partly connected to the basal layer of the overlying epidermis. 2. The tumor cells show large dark nuclei and little cytoplasm. 3. Peripheral nuclear pallisading 4. Loose fibromyxoid stroma. 5. Retraction artefact around the tumor lobules.

Diagnosis: Basal cell carcinoma, nodulocystic type
