Ulcerated epidermis, band-like upper dermal chronic inflammation

Ulceration, dense dermal chronic inflammation

Ulceration, vascular proliferation, chronic inflammation

Plasma cells dominate in the inflammatory infiltrates

Balanitis circumscripta plasmacellularis (Zoon's balanitis, Plasma cell balanitis)

Clinical:
Rare, idiopathic, benign chronic dermatosis of uncircumcised male (20-80 yrs) affecting prepuce and glans.

Pathology:
Epidermal atrophy and ulceration. Band-like upper dermal dense chronic inflammation with predominently plasma cells. Vascular proliferation and red cell extravasation.
