STEP #7: After you are confident you have correctly transformed the passages into paraphrased sentences, your next task is to attempt to combine some of them into one sentences using plays. We do this because we want a summary that flows nicelynot a choppy list of sentences. Were not grocery shopping! Before combining though, review your Plays That Can Be Used to Combine/Connect Sentences sheet, paying close attention to the 4 different categories of plays. Notice that different plays can be used best in only specific situations. ***YOU ARE ONLY REVIEWING/READING THE SHEET. DO NOT START COMBINING YET..***

STEP #8: Go back to your list of paraphrased sentences. Decide which sentences go together and should be combined/connected and draw an arrow between them (you may combine or connect multiple sentences from the same passage if you would like). Now, decide which of the four categories your sentences fit in. Then, combine them. Do this until you have combined sentences that you believe should be combined. ***DONT FORGET YOUR PUNCTUATION!!!!***

STEP#9: Make a brand new, neat list of your paraphrased sentences that includes those you combined and left alone. Next, number them in logical order as if you were writing an actual summary.
