February 4-8, 2013
What we’re learning
Our Bible stories for this week are “Jesus Raises Lazarus from the Dead” and “Zacchaeus.” We will be reading “Rolling Rice Cakes” and “The Rat and the Cat” in our basal reading books. In phonics we are focusing on the long “o” sound. Math will include adding two digit numbers, grouping by 10’s, and congruent shapes. We will be learning about natural resources in science.

Here are some ways to challenge your child: Math– Create your own bar graph. Reading– Identify the author’s purpose of the stories read at home. Writing– Write silly sentences with spaces, capital letters, and end marks.

Thanks! :) February book orders are due February 28th! This Friday is another Collaboration/Book Celebration Day! We will be celebrating An Elephant and Piggy Book by Mo Willems. Come to school wearing either pink for Piggy, gray for Elephant, or both!
