Font name: Tekton Pro Author: David Siegel History: The font Tekton Pro was designed by David Siegel with assistance from Tom Rickner, Tobias Frere-Jones and Jill Pichotta, was originally released in 1989. Later work on this family was done by Jim Wasco and Christopher Slye. Tekton is an Adobe Original type family that is based on the hand-lettering of Seattle-based architect and author Francis D.K. Ching. Although Tekton was initially designed by Siegel, a former draftsman, with architects in mind (Tekton is the Greek word for builder), it quickly found a much broader audience. Why it attracted me: First, Tekton is an elegent type of hand-writing fonts while maintaining simpleness, clearness and legibility which are not typical characteristics we expect from hand-writing fonts. It also looks very strong and powerful because of its condensed sharp and the strength in apex, ascender, descender etc. Thus, Tekton is an attractive choice when design the words in some old papers or posters, just like those in my alphabet. Target audience: Super movie fans, especially those who love classic ones and those with crazy feeling about Oscae Awards. Design message: My design intention is to create a wood board with great movie posters pinned on it. All the movies here are selected from Oscar Best pictures over the years which are all very famous and classic. Movie posters are well-selected to t the overall style and are sticked on old papers before being pinned together on the board. I chose red as the letter color because it can most stand out on the blue board and tint origin paper. All these elements together give birth to my record board for classics and time.
