McKay Appreciation Day Proclamation

WHEREAS, McKay High School is a valued part of the Salem community, serving thousands of students and their families over many years WHEREAS, the highly dedicated staff of this school is producing hundreds of graduates every year ready for college, careers and giving back to this community WHEREAS, McKay High School has tripled reading proficiency for Hispanic students over the past five years WHEREAS, McKay has increased reading proficiency for all students by more than double in the past five years WHEREAS, McKay math proficiency for all students has doubled in the past five years WHEREAS, McKay High School now has the lowest dropout rate of any large high school in Oregon NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that I, Anna Peterson, Mayor of the City of Salem, proclaim McKay High School Appreciation Day, February 26, 2013.
