Saturday Staff Docent for the Root House Museum and Garden to conduct tours, provide administrative assistance for operations and to serve as ad hoc docent for special tours and back up to regular staff.

Job Responsibilities Saturday 11am 4pm

-Open and close Root House Museum and Garden (RHMG) -Conduct RHMG tours to supplement volunteer docents -Operate Mr. Root Store Market merchandise, process sales, and complete weekly reports -Administrative Duties Visitation Reports Track Volunteer Hours

Other Potential Duties for potential additional hours

-Back Up Docent for School Tours on ad hoc basis -Fill in for museum staff on-call basis -Work other special events for Cobb Landmarks/Root House Museum and Garden QualificationsThe candidate will be an energetic self-starter seeking to serve the RHMG as Saturday Docent and Administrative Assistant for RHMG Operations. Interest in historic preservation and history is important. A bachelors degree is required. Good communication skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Excel and computer proficiency are essential. Knowledge of PastPerfect and QuickBooks software a plus. Hours: 5 hours per week, Saturday 11am 4pm. Wage: $15/hour. Position reports to CLHS Executive Director. Candidate must be available for training April 3 5, 2013.
