for you and I, The sinless and spotless One died. And oh the agony that He endured, Excruciating pain went through His body, As on that cross He hung and died, Because of His love of everybody. Even those who hung Him there He could forgive, For He died that we might live, And He conquered over the power of death and the grave, For mankind He had come to save. Two condemned men hung on either side, One rejected Him and jeered, But the other asked for his sins to be forgiven, And he was promised a home in heaven. On the third day Christ arose, Obedience to His Father He had chosen, Now the victory was won, Ascending God would fully exalt His Son. The once for all sacrifice for our sins had been paid, Jesus died for His creation, those He had made, He died for you, and He died for me, Because He did not want us to go to a lost eternity. And He gave us a choice we could choose Him and live, In that choosing we would have all our sins forgiven, It was love for us that took Him to that cross, And the blood He shed for us would not suffer loss. We thank you dear Lord and Saviour for dying for us, Thank you Jesus that you came, Forgiveness of sins we have found in you Lord Jesus, And from that point on our lives have never been the same.
