Judul FENOMENA HUBUNGAN DEBIT AIR DAN KADAR ZAT PENCEMAR DALAM AIR SUNGAI (STUDI KASUS: SUB DPS CITARUM HULU )

Abstraksi The relationship between fluctuation of river discharge and pollution level should be assessed, in order to get pollution control more realistically and appropriate with the hydrological characteristics. This research held in upper part of Citarum River has shown that there is significant affect by river discharge to the content of Total Dissolved Solids, BOD, COD, DO, detergent, Nitrogen and Phosphorous. In addition, there is a general phenomena, as predicted, that the higher discharge, until the certain value, cause reduction of the pollutant content originated from point source because of the dilution effect. However, even in the high water, the content of pollutant parameters is relatively constant, except detergent The empirical equation calculated from the relationship between discharge and pollutants content is C=(a/Q)+ b. The Flooding discharge affect to the increase of Nitrogen Parameter caused by the soil erosion. Same phenomena, predicted, also happened in the other river, which is polluted by domestics, industries, agriculture, livestock, and heavy erosion. Therefore, river discharge should be measured when the water quality monitoring is being done in order to improve its assessment. The upper part of Citarum contribute the pollutant load into Saguling Reservoir until BOD=280 tones/day, COD=360 tones/day, Nitrogen= 85 tones/day, and Phosphorous-7,7 tones/day. Those conditions initiate euthrophication process in the reservoir beside the other sources.
