and looking for a job is good but it is never good without any homework or you can say plan ……..I am writing the procedure keeping in mind that the person is in Pakistan …and will be going to Dubai for not less than a month……I’ll mention the reason later on…. My first advice would be your timing. The best time to look for a job in Middle East should be around end September to March………not Summers….as you know the summers in Middle East are very hot and more importantly the managers are mostly on vacations. The jobs in Dubai are always advertised by the recruiting agencies without any information about the employer…..so second thing to do is to register oneself to all the recruiting agencies………..if the person has lets say a plan to come to Dubai than better/safe would be to sign up with all……..if there is some time limitation than he has to be selective……whatever you select, my recommendation is basis on replies I received. If I want be selective than BAC, ABC, Career Line (This one is taken from Dubai Internet City Site), IQ Selection, SOS, Clarendon Parker, Bayt ( very helpful for job INFO only) and Futurejobs ( have to find the site for this one….nowhere in newspapers but a good one) These are some other good sites to look for recruiter’s

Next step should be to search for as many references as one can find….i.e. before leaving for Dubai……..as we all know the only thing is the reference otherwise one just have to give his best shot……… rest is on Allah. From my experienced, focus yourself in one direction that is instead of going for all jobs…….you wont get any reply from any recruiter……….and this may get one in trouble as if I am a telecom person and applying for a job in banking sector…….. so better to look for a job that suites one………. Next step should be to send the CV to companies directly………you have two options: • • Fax E-mail
. One thing should be to have your own mobile number (costs around 150 to 180Dhs. Fax is also a handy option and no need to pay for faxes just install windows xp and configure the fax option on your PC/laptop……….well 5 yrs is enough …. 3.very imp) 4.(this option is to be used once in Dubai) So before leaving for dubai one must have done the following things..and than the employer will at least take three to four days……….) Land Line number….bcoz it is not imp whether a company has the vacancy . etc.(physical locations…. 1.. Arrangement of accommodation 7. As every job asks for exp……. Most important of all………atleast 8 to 10 references 10.ien ki sites bhi hain lekin sites drama hi hai………. Now getting to the point why I wont recommend less than a month……my recommendation is at least two months…. Take two to three days about confirming the locations and business centers and take the newspapers Gulf News and Khaleej Times….. Subscription with the recruiters Get to known to all free zones and concerned policies. Get to known the business area….if u don’t get a call for an interview with in two weeks just forget about it and move on to the next one………now the recruiter suggest the employer about short listed candidates……so their mutual decision might take a week…….concluding which makes it a month …… it would be very good if you have any imp reference that can just refer you to someone……... I mean to say don’t not lie in your CV.. 2. relative... ******yeh saray kaam yahan se ker ke janay hain as ke sab kuch online hai…… nahin tou wahan ja ker time lagana parey ga****** When in Dubai……... Knowledge of Visa and ban issues 5.use the map or sit with someone who is working in dubai……….. Gather the companies fax numbers 9.thora sa dalda daal lein CV mein koi fark nahin parta ………per what ever u put on the CV ……u must know the ABC of it.although seems stupid but somehow it is the case……somehow a virus gets in your mail and the receiver just del the mail. E-mailing CV’s to all the companies 6.but even though good.remember the list on Dubai Internet City website is old ….just visualize that if your company takes at least a week to short list the candidates and a week for interviews and at least a week for making any decision…… Now the case in Dubai is you put your CV to the recruiter ……which takes two to three weeks in short listing the CVs….Don’t send the email using the Bcc option with more than 10 addresses……because I experienced some problem sending email to more than 10 addresses in Bcc……. Gathering the list of companies…. 8.) and access to the internet …… preferably with own (friend..
