Day 18

THE LORD’S PRAYER WEEK! Day 17: The Lord’s Prayer  Matthew 6:9-13 or JSB 222  Focus on vs 9 “Our Father in Heaven, Holy is your name.”  Talk about how and why God’s name is Holy, list ways on your coloring square today. Reflect throughout your day on His holiness. Day 18: “Your kingdom come, Your will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.”  Vs. 10  God isn’t waiting until Jesus returns to make our fallen world better… he is beginning to restore NOW and it will be complete when Jesus returns.  How is God’s will being done in your life? What does it mean to pray His will for your family? With your child? Is there a way in which He is calling you to participate in the renewal of all things with your child? How would Jesus renew your neighborhood today if He were to come? How would he renew your family? Think of those things and see if there are anyways in which you can partner with God, and participate in the renewal, anticipating Jesus’ return. Day 19: “Give us today our daily bread”  Vs 11.

 Take a moment to THANK GOD and be grateful in ways that He provides for you and your family.  Take some time to Focus on gratefulness – ask your child what they are thankful for, tell them what you’re thankful for. Day 20. “And forgive us our sins as we also have forgiven those who sinned against us. And do not bring us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.”  Vs 12-13a  Ask your kids what they need forgiveness for – have them pray and ask.  Reflect on the lesson from last week about loving our enemies. Practice forgiveness today, remind them of forgiveness when they are bickering with a sibling.  Teach them to pray against the enemy – to pray for angels to protect them.
