Makes 3 servings

1 onion chopped
2 Tbsp oil
1 bay leaf
1 cup green or yellow split peas (dried)
Few cloves of garlic chopped
Salt and pepper
1 tsp of cumin
1-1/5 cups of water
In a soup pot, sauté onions, bay leaf, and garlic until soft.
Wash the peas and then add them to the pot with the garlic, salt/pepper to taste,
water, and cumin.
Cook on medium high–-stirring often and adjusting the water for the consistency
that you like.
This delicious soup is full of protein and vitamins.
