Sewing a Seam Pocket

The Seam Pocket is a very neat invisible pocket that sits inside the side seam of a garment.

Example Pattern Pieces

1. Pin the pockets into place at the required measurement and ensure that you match the pair of pockets by pining right side to right sides. Sew into place

2. After stitching the pocket into place, press the seam outwards towards the pocket

Pin the pair of pockets together and side seam,

also pin across the pocket opening to provide stability when sewing

Sew 1.5cm around the edge and down the side seam

TOP TIP: When sewing around tricky areas, use the hand wheel to gain better control when stitching.

Press the pocket to one side (towards the front

of the garment

There you go – All Done!!!
