We wouldnt have had a successful first show without you. We are truly grateful that our friends, family, and business partners still believe in the marvel that is live theatre and the idea that musical theatre should be accessible to university students of all majors. Fundraisers
Illini Student Musicals is 100% funded by the support and consideration of patrons such as you. To make ends meet, ISM hosts fundraisers coordinated by our fundraising chairwoman, Samantha McArdle. Over the past few weeks, Illini Student Musicals has participated in two dine-n-shares, with restaurants Lou Malnatis in Buffalo Grove, Illinois as well as Mia Zas in Champaign. During the University of Illinois campus Unofficial, members of ISM sold chocolate covered pretzels on Green Street. These partnerships and bake sale were all invaluable in helping ISM make ends meet in the initial fundraising efforts of the organization. Future fundraisers currently include more bake sales and summer cabaret performances at a bar called Blues Bar in Mount Prospect, IL. As always, ISM appreciates your continued support for all of our future productions!

Current Sponsorships
For our production of Little Shop of Horrors, we are pleased to announce our continued support from Krannert Center for the Performing Arts and the University of Illinois School of Music. With their support, we are able to receive free rehearsal space throughout the course of the production. Krannert Center also helps with our marketing efforts by allowing us to receive free advertisements in their programs. We appreciate everything Krannert Center and the School of Music have done for Illini Student Musicals and hope to continue these relationships in the future.

EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH
Illini Student Musicals is excited to be developing a community outreach program coordinated by outreach board member, Jeri Hart. The outreach program is an important way for ISM students to get involved and give back to the community. Projects hosted by ISM include a Relay-for-Life Team, Educational Outreach Mentorship, and an area educational program for greater Champaign- Urbana. This program is important to ISM because it helps provide the organization with a 501c-3 charter as an agent educational institution. The past few weeks, a dedicated group of ISM members have been working with the drama club at Prairie Elementary School in Urbana. They lead a variety of activities including warmups and games. The 4th and 5th grade students are working on a Shakespeare unit, so ISM is helping them as they put together some scenes and create their own show. The show will also include an Elizabethan dance and, of course, an epic swordfight. Shakespeare is very new for them, so luckily some of our incredibly talented cast members, Mindy Shore and Alexis DawTyne, already had monologues prepared! said Education Outreach Coordinator Jeri Hart. The students loved getting to see professionals perform and trying to decipher the Shakespearean language. ISM also brought in a few specialists to talk with the kids about costuming and make-up. The kids had a great time learning to sew with ISM Marketing Director Jenny Jones, and couldnt wait to get fake bruises from make-up specialist and Drowsy Chaperone cast member, Sara Costello. ISM will continue to work with the Prairie students throughout the semester as they work toward putting on a fabulous Shakespearean show.
