IDM Internship Position Description Owens Library

Position Title: Purpose of Position:

Multimedia and Marketing Developer Based upon content provided by Owens Library, design and develop library print, social media, and web marketing materials, add functionality to course sites, and/or create multimedia educational applications to be used in courses. An opportunity for practical experience in applying skills learned in course work and to be creative and learn new skills within a team environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist with the design and development of multimedia tutorials and/or promotional materials utilizing a variety of hardware and software packages. The intern will work independently in cooperation with the Owens Library Information Services Team. Communications: Communicate information in user-friendly terms and language. Have welldeveloped written and oral communication skills. Computer Hardware / Software: Knowledge of Microsoft Office Knowledge of software design tools, specified below Knowledge of Windows XP operating systems Knowledge of scanners, digital cameras, and digitizing video equipment preferred Self-Directed Learning: Ability to recognize, initiate and complete various tasks through independent learning Personal/Social Development: Exhibit professionalism and courtesy Exhibit positive interpersonal relations skills Team Work/Team Leading: Ability to work in a team environment

Competencies Expected:

Internship: Qualifications

IDM major; In-depth skill with graphic design tools including two or more of the following: Flash, Director, Photoshop, Illustrator and Premiere; Knowledge of web page design and HTML authoring; Knowledge of scripting or programming languages; Attention to detail Lori Mardis, Librarian CITE Office Room 246, Owens Library
