ABSTRACT
Three dimensional flow is one of principle aspect in cascade airfoil. The disadvantages in cascade airfoil are caused by the existence of secondary flow which may cause lack of total pressure. The pressure loss is assumed to be solved by adding clearance. The aim of this research is to analyse three dimensional flow due to the alternation angle of attack and geometry. The results of numerical simulation is visualized in both velocity vector and contours coefficient of pressure contours. A secondary flow of curl flow of which spiral point is formed has been eventually found in 12 angle of attack. The addition of 20 angle of attack makes pressure difference between lower and upper side growing big, so that the separation among the three dimensional flow is bigger and the tip clearance flow is straighter. The use of thick airfoil causes adverse pressure gradient bigger so that the corner wake emerged is wider. Key word: angle of attack, adverse pressure gradient, cascade airfoil, tip clearance flow.
