April Events
Young Writer’s Project Informational Meeting Friday, April 12 at 3:30 pm For interested high school writers and artists. Meeting will present the Young Writer's Project, a program sponsored by LSC, a consortium of a northeast Indiana libraries. The project will include a yearly publication of prose, poetry and 2D art work.

Saturday, May 4th 1-2 pm
Celebrate the Merry Month of May with a festive spring tea. Storyteller extraordinaire Lou Ann Homan will entertain with tales of Great Britain, including the story of her mother’s English wedding. The Garden Gals caterers will delight with traditional savories, pastries and sweets served, of course, with a selection of delicious teas. Do it up like Downton Abbey and wear your favorite hat and ladylike gloves, or Bend It Like Beckham in your best jeans and sneakers. Either way, it’s a grand afternoon out. Tickets are $10 and available at the library service desk. For Adults and youth 13+

National Library Week—April 15—20
Straw Bale Gardening Tuesday, April 16 at 6-7 pm Learn about this new and easy garden technique with Master Gardener Karan Flick. Create a vegetable garden using straw bales as the foundation - no digging required! Fancy Nancy Tea Party For children ages 2-5 and their grown-up. Saturday, April 20 at 10:30—11:15 am Get Fancy! Dress in your fanciest play clothes for fancy fun with a craft, game and snacks. Please register for this event. American Girl Tea Party For girls in grade K and up. Saturday, April 20 at 1:00-2:00 pm Wear your tea party clothes and bring your favorite doll or stuffed animal to tea. We’ll have games, crafts and snacks and every attendee receives an American Girl book courtesy of the Friends of the Library. (American Girl dolls are not required!) Please register for this event.

Yoga ~ Stretch and Strengthen for Spring
Tuesdays ~ 4:30 pm Yoga is an adaptable, stress-relieving exercise for all fitness levels. Start your spring out right with this class taught by experienced instructor Kelly Kobelak. $8 per session. Tuesday, May 7 at 6 pm Master Gardner Mindee Gleason will show how to use simple hardware and living plants to make a stunning wreath for your outdoor living space. No cost.

Annual Plant & Seed Swap
Saturday, May 18 ~ 10 am-noon on Library Patio Bring your extra plant divisions and seeds to share and swap. New gardeners—here’s a great place to get new plants as well as meet experienced gardeners.
