A client has come to me with a substance abuse issue and I don’t have training on this issue, so what do I do? My very first job will be to sit with the client, talking to them to know every detail and what their goal is about this specific issue. Then if it feels like I won’t be able to deal with

After I find one. I would be talking to my colleges if they know any. that’s why it’s very important to keep in touch with the client and make sure they have actually received the service. But my duty will still go on. Calling lots of helping agencies and getting appointments to visit them is the last thing a desperate client can do. To help the clients who need further assistance. then I will explain them that I didn’t have training in this field and refer them to someone who could help. My second step would be finding out agencies that can handle such type of clients. I would tell my client about the agency and provide them with the agency’s contact details. When you have all the required tools and trainings. And a referral can both be good or bad. I’ll keep in touch with the clients to make sure that they receive their desired service. you can help a client in quickest possible time. I’ll call the agency to inform them about me sending them a client. Ready referrals are helpful as running to and fro in these situations are painful. Clients might not take referral in a good way. And after everything is done. this is how a referral takes place. If a client feels like getting run around then it’s a bad reputation for you.this. many agencies have databases to provide them with proper information. and if you keep contact with them then it’s encouraging to them and positive for your career. especially if you refer them to another agency and don’t keep in touch with them. . In these cases.

some people just love everything readymade. the client would just attend the appointment. The professionals might even help the clients without having the tools ready. A client might not be happy with referral and dissatisfied if they don’t get instant help. In these cases the professionals should help the client in every possible way without crossing the boundaries. and that gives the client the message that they can count on the professional. More available help makes the situation easy going for a client who’s in trouble. Each client . The client should also understand their situation and try their best to get it resolved.the professional can take the job of setting everything up. every state has their own rules about this. as the client will seek and get help from other sources. counseling – all these trainings need time to complete and everyone doesn’t have that time and that’s why one single professional can’t provide help for every client. You need licenses and classes to help out people. As it’s not possible to satisfy all unsatisfied clients. Clients don’t want to repeat the same information to many professionals because it actually spreads their sensitive confidential information to a lot of people. Every professional needs to manage time to help everyone and that’s why they can’t simply go out of their rules. Substance abuse. A professional can gain trust by helping a client through every processes she might be going through. they should be just left alone.

they will deal the situation in better ways. who had been a sufferer of substance abuse and recovered the issue. and through practices you will get into a situation when you will be referred too. this is the best way of referring. that’s why I would refer to this abuse first and this could solve the issues. An addicted client often thinks that they can stop at any time. Your treatment in some specific situations might not be able to help the clients. Someone. To get help. which is actually not true and leads to further real problems. you will not be able to provide them with help. . They might not need any help further but if they need then I will refer them to a marriage counselor. The client can easily open up to a person like this and the person can help them to provide ways to overcome the problem and to accept the help. Someone who has already gone through the same situation feels more about it and can give the best advice and suggestions. You might just refer the client to someone else for the time being. they really need to open up with someone and share everything. can be the best helper to another person suffering the same. none can definitely have all the trainings but other professionals who are properly trained could provide the perfect help. Without having the proper qualifications. the procedure has to be unique as well.is a different individual and to treat them right. The substance abuse usually causes marriage issues.
