Tool Bar Menu The toolbar is a collection of icons.

Each button performs a specific action when you click it. Each toolbar button represents a commonly used menu bar item. ICON NAME New Record Find PURPOSE Use this icon to create a blank record when entering new data. Use this icon when searching for data that is already in the system. (Also known as Flashlight) Use this icon to place the Navigator on top of all the other Oracle forms. Use this icon to save data you have entered. If you have multiple responsibilities, use this icon to switch between them. Use this icon when you want a print a screen shot. (This icon doesnt print reports). This icon is useful to quickly close all open Oracle forms. Use these icons to copy data, cut data and paste data. Copies the highlighted value. Pastes the value that was copied. Use this icon to clear data from your form. This does not delete data. Use this icon to delete data from Oracle. You must save your work afterwards. Use this icon to read descriptions and other data that exceeds the display width in the form. Use this icon to attach text or external documents to a record. Icon will display a paper in the paper clip when a document has been attached to a record. Use this icon to open folder tools when creating or modifying folders. Use this icon to open help documentation.

Hot Keys Experienced Oracle Applications users can access the menu by using a keyboard shortcut or hot key, a specific combination of keystrokes that performs the same function as a corresponding menu item. Oracle Applications assigns many commonly used functions, such as Run Query, Save, or Clear Record to keyboard shortcuts. You can display a full list of the keyboard shortcuts that map to your computer terminal's keyboard at any time (Ctrl+K). Selected hot keys listed below: FUNCTION

Oracle 11i Navigation Pocket Guide

Logging On Connecting to Applications Oracle Applications software is web based technology that can be accessed through a standard web browser. Launch your standard web browser and enter the Oracle Applications URL provided by your system administrator. The URL can be typed into the address field on your browser and set as a browser favorite or desktop icon for future access. Logging on to Oracle Applications Once connected to the applications you will be prompted to enter an Oracle Applications User Name and Password.

Navigator Window A Navigator window will be displayed after a responsibility is selected. Use this window to navigate to the form that allows you to perform desired business functions. This is the main window that is always displayed during your session.

Forms and Menus After you have chosen the appropriate function you would like to perform from the Navigator window and clicked on the Open button, the appropriate Oracle form will appear on your screen.

All the forms contain fields you use to enter, view, or edit information. Fields are color coded to indicate the type of activity allowed: White Permits data entry Yellow Requires data entry Grey with Black Text- For display only Blue- Indicates the form is in Query-Enter mode Menus Within an Oracle Application form you will find a main menu bar. When you click on the main menu a drop down list of items will allow you to perform various functions through the application. The following lists selected functions for each menu choice:

Enter the User ID or Name assigned to you in the User Name field Enter the Password in the Password field Click the Connect button or press the enter key on the keyboard Responsibility Screen After logging on to the applications you will see a responsibility screen. A responsibility limits the functions you can perform and the data you can access within Oracle Applications. Each user is assigned one or more responsibilities and several users can share the same responsibility. Important: If youre assigned a single responsibility then youll be taken directly to the Navigator window.

The navigation list is organized in levels. Items that begin with a plus sign (+) can be expanded to further sub-levels until you find the form of interest (no sign will appear). The expand buttons are located on the Navigator window at the left of the screen. In order to access the desired form: Double click on the item or use the icons on the left to drill down to the desired level. Select the item and click the Open button.

Navigation Top Ten List: Use the Top Ten List to add personal favorites and most frequently used forms to quickly navigate to them from the Top Ten List on the right side of the screen. Each list is unique to a user and responsibility. To add a form to the Navigation Top Ten List, select a frequently used form in the navigation list (on the left side of the screen). Click the right arrow button. The form name appears in the Top Ten List preceded by a number. To remove a form from the Top Ten List, select the form in the Top Ten List and click the left arrow button
