Assignment- Red Rose Project Outline: Sell your soul to the devil and draw up the basics from

the devils point of view. For the Assignment, the Red Rose Team chose to direct a short movie as the directed visual aid for the classroom. The videos plot revolved around Jalal, a young man who envied money, luxury and power and would do anything to achieve these worldly amenities. Furthermore one day when hes in work his peer; Adil, comes to him and tells him that he just got a promotion and bonus and invites Jalal to a small party at his place to carry the celebrations for his success. Jalal gets jealous and his conscience tells him to avoid the party, going home to his wife but the devil coerces him into attending the party and drinking and playing cards. Once Jalal goes to the party the devil further pushes him to gamble and stake everything he has. The devil wins the game for Jalal and an ecstatic Jalal goes to the garden to enjoy his recent win. Once alone, the ecstatic Jalal congrats himself over the recent win and wishes if there was any way which could get him so much money without working hard. Listening to this the Devil appears and talks to Jalal, telling him that the win wasnt Jalals luck but the Devils doing and further tells him that Jalal would be able to get everything he wants in this life, all monetary aspirations would be fulfilled but only if he made a deal with the Devil. The proposal for the Contract: The Devil is an individual entity and will provide Jalal with money, status and power and in return he will commit the sins of the Devil. Furthermore after every sin is committed a part of the Promisees soul will be held with the Devil. As the intensity of a sin increases the Devil has

more devious control of the Promisees soul. The Promisees body will remain his own throughout the life of the contract. Promisor: The Devil Promisee: Jalal Terms of the Contract: The contract is a binding contract. The contract is a void agreement as it cannot be dealt in the court of law and although Jalal is a legal entity the matter of selling your soul is not a legal prospect. Any revocation can take place before the signing of the agreement; once the contract is done it cannot be revoked at any time. The contract is valid as; (i) (ii) (iii) The promisee is of an adult age. The promisee is of a sound mind at the time of contract. The promisees decision is of free consent.

The Promisee cannot get his sould back and so the contract cannot be terminated in any way possible; either by performance, breach, renunciation or impossibility.

In case the promisee wishes to terminate the contract the only option amiable will be to either End His Life or Live By The Terms of The Devil.

Jalal agrees to all the terms and conditions provided by the Devil but says that he doesnt believe that he has a soul. The Devil states that Jalals beliefs about his soul is irrelevant and provides Jalal with the contract to which he signs. Once the contract is signed the Devil congratulates Jalal on a successful life and tells Jalal to go back to the party. Once Jalal enters the party he gets attracted to a girl and is enticed by the sin of Lust. He leaves with the girl Mahnam and cheats on his wife. After that a few days later we see that Jalal is living in a big house and his wife is irritated by his constant laziness (sloth). She tells Jalal to fix his ways and care about her and their family but Jalal overcome by the sin of Pride tells her that he doesnt need to fix anything and he is perfect but his wife Sophia belongs from a low-class family and isnt worthy of him and his new-found money. They both get into a fight and the sin of Wrath takes over Jalal and he hits his wife. She then leaves the house and Jalal alone. Jalal then starts drinking continuously hence committing Gluttony but he doesnt get relief from the drinking. The Devil then comes to him and tells him to accept his fate but he cries and wishes for a way back. The Devil tells Jalal that the only way would be to die and hence he should accept his fate and live like this. In the end we see a man named Jamal who recently won at a game of cards and is thanking his luck for the win and wishes to get more and right there Jalal enters and tells Jamal that it wasnt his luck but Jalals doings and he again convinces Jamal to sell his soul to the Devil hence acting as the Devils minion and hence starts the vicious circle of sins.
