The “Confidential” Copywriting Secrets of Gary Halbert….

By: Jason Hart
Have you ever dreamed of being at the very pinnacle of success, increasing your sales into the stratosphere and doubling your chances of making an absolute fortune? If so…then this may be the most important article you have ever read about how to write profit-pulling copy that sells like crazy… Want to tap into the hidden desires of your target market? Then appeal to their "self interest" it is far more powerful than any product or service you may be selling! Nobody cares about how great you’re widget is. They want to know what’s in it for them and if you can appeal to the seven deadly sins in the process, more power to you. You’ll sell more through the use of "my or your" than any other special sales techniques or strategies. For instance if you were to tell them… "The benefits of knowing exactly how to "make money on demand" from using simple yet persuasive words will attach itself to every aspect of your life so much so that…you will almost unconsciously increase the respect from your friends and family through the shear power of your newfound mental dominance." …Now that’s what’s going to get them reading. Its stuff like that that gets them buying faster than you can imagine. This isn’t the only thing you need to do but it is a powerful one. Remember at the beginning of this article I used a particular leadin? The opener went something like this, "Have you ever dreamed…" and ended with "then this may be the most important blog post you have ever read about…"

Have any idea why I did that? To start with, it’s a phrase that crawls into your mind and starts harvesting your hidden desires. The phrase also sets you up for what's ahead next. Secondly, if you have any knowledge of the work of Gary Halbert, you’ll know that he repeatedly used very similar phrases for his openers. In fact the Gary Halbert Billion Dollar Copywriting Course contains a whole dossier of these “confidential” Openers, as well as his Headlines, Bullets, Guarantees, P.S.’s etc; not to mention the Greatest Sales Letters of All Time.. What the incomparable Gary Halbert knew, almost unconsciously, was that if self interest and hidden desires is what I was after, and that this phrase works in current controls, then if he repeatedly used persuasive phrases for different markets, and even similar markets it would also work its magic! This is the science of selling…. Swiping compelling phrases, editing them and re-using them for specific products or services has been the master copywriter's “secret” for centuries. No, I am not advocating plagiarism! I never said copy it word for word…I said, "swipe it" not plagiarize. There is a major difference. One of the “secrets” of success in any field has been that…when you find something that works, duplicate it. It is no different with copywriting. Simplicity is the key to copywriting success. All you really have to do is write to attract the hidden desires of your target market and then use what has worked in the past to duplicate successful copy.
