Blend well together. Sieve the flour and add half to the mixture. Knead the raisins—well washed and drained —into the mixture with the rest of the flour. Divide the dough into three, form into rolls about 16 inches in length and plait them together. Dampen the ends to join them. Place the dough on a greased baking sheet and brush lightly with milk. Preheat oven for five minutes at very hot; Then bake about 30 to 40 minutes at moderately hot; Bake fairly low in oven.
