Assessments/Checks for Understanding: Once the videos are complete, I will have them compare and contrast the videos involving a Venn diagram. We will then discuss the results as a class. Closure/Wrap-Up/Review: In closure, I will assign them a homework assignment where they have to pretend they are a soldier that liberated a concentration camp. Using their knowledge from today, they need to write in their diary about what they saw, felt, and experienced. What did you see? How did it make you feel? How did what you saw affect your attitude toward the war & what youve gone through as a soldier? Self-Assessment: Did the videos evoke emotions for the students? Were the students engaged with ALL aspects of the lesson? Did the students understand the material?
