O'BRIEN NAMED TO WORK GROUP OF FINGER LAKES REGIONAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Senator Ted O'Brien was officially named today to a key work group of the Finger Lakes Regional Economic Development Council, the local branch of a state initiative that has secured hundreds of millions of dollars for job-creating projects in the Rochester metropolitan area. "Our region faces some serious challenges, and strengthening the city’s economy helps ensure that our suburban and rural areas also continue to thrive,” Senator O’Brien said. “We will be using a comprehensive approach that considers everything from the need for better job training to combating crime pockets that create economic dead zones. It's an ambitious program that I believe the region both needs and deserves." The work group will be implementing the Opportunity Agenda introduced in Governor Cuomo's State of the State address, specifically focused on improving the local economy and reducing unemployment in the City of Rochester. -30Sen.
