What is the Great Brookland Yard Sale? The Great Brookland Yard Sale (GBYS), now in its sixth year, is an opportunity for Brooklanders to host yard sales all at the same time, drawing shoppers from across the city. When is it? Its scheduled for Saturday, May 11, from 10:00 am to 2:00pm. (Individual yard sale times can vary, of course). If it rains, then it will be rescheduled for the next day, Sunday. How do I participate in the GBYS? Just have a yard sale on May 11th! Better yetchoose to be included on the ofcial map (optional) where you will be able to highlight specic items to draw people to your sale! Visit www. greatbrooklandyardsale.org/signup. Hows it being marketed? Will people show up? This is a volunteer event; much will be done via the Brookland Neighborhood Civic Association, local blogs, the Brookland Listserv, and other outlets.
