WEDNESDAY OF THE 6TH WEEK OF EASTER Introduction   Feasts in the next Sundays: Ascension Sunday, Pentecost, Trinity Sunday

Logic of the celebrations: o Lent: Salvation through the passion and death of Jesus o Easter: Joy in the Risen Christ who gives us hope of union with God o Pentecost: coming of the Holy Spirit; our salvation history does not end with the triumph of Christ; we have to do our share with the help of the Holy Spirit; “I will ask the Father and he will give you another Advocate to be with you always.”; When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you to all truth.

God working for our salvation.   Father: created us and constantly works to re-create us so that we will one day be united with him. Son: o sent by the Father to redeem creation from the slavery of sin; o He is the way, the truth and the life; through his words and deeds, Christ shows us the way to the father and the truth about who we are and the divine life we are destined to share; o BUT we do not understand or appreciate the full meaning of what he has said and done: “I have much more to tell you, but you cannot bear it now, but when he comes, the Spirit of truth, he will guide you to all truth.” o Song “Used to Be”:

But I believe that love can save tomorrow Believe the truth can make us free Someone tried to say it, then we nailed Him to a cross I guess it's still the way it used to be
Our Trinitarian God constantly works for our salvation:     When we pray, do we pray to all three? Are we open to the movements of the Spirit in our Life? Difficulty: Spirit is not a person the way we know one unlike the Father and the Son Espirit d’Corps: Spirit of the Group; a group that shares the same mind and heart move as one; the Father and Son, who share the same mind and heart, the same love, move as one; this is the Spirit of God.

Conclusion:   Invitation to open our minds and hearts to the movements of the Spirit In the next days before the Feast of the Pentecost, we beg for the grace to truly appreciate the Spirit of God and to be open to its inspiration and movements in our life

 Come Holy Spirit and fill the hearts of thy faithful .
