For the first 3 times, practice these 6 forms with translation, i.e.,
just show and say

your hand, you dont need to translate each of them after 3

the immediate benefit of using TPI, among many others.
Continue the above steps without translating these words.
Just Five minutes of your practice using TPI will make
the learning of these six words and many other things
extremely easy!!! Also note that while practicing, dont
worry about learning the terminologies. Just focus on
these six words and their meanings.

Depending upon the person (3rd, 2nd, or 1st), gender (masculine or feminine), and number (singular or plural), ending
words of the corresponding forms of the past tense change. By this change we know whether this verb (past tense) is
singular or plural, 3rd, 2nd or 1st person, and feminine or masculine. To remember this feature, here is an example. If
you are standing on a road, you can see the backside of a departed car, truck or jeep. A look at the backside is enough
for you to tell which type of car has gone. So, remember the endings for past tense forms: (

Dear Brothers/Sisters! To get maximum benefit from the lessons, please download the .wmv
(video) file or mp3 file and watch it along with the .pps files. Change the slide whenever you hear
AllahuAkbar in the background. EXTREMELY IMPORTANT POINT: If you dont follow those SEVEN
simple, practical and doable homework then: (i) Dont blame that Quran is difficult to understand;
(ii) Dont blame your own brain that it is not smart; and (iii) Dont say that the teacher is not good!
And if you follow these simple homeworks, learning Quran will become absolutely easy. You will
wish that you knew it long before!!!
Message for Lesson No. 13
Dear Brothers/Sisters! Most important point is: Never forget to beg Allah continuously and
sincerely: Rabbi Zidnee Ilmaa (O My Rabb, Increase me in knowledge). The prayer shows our
love, concern, and feelings towards Quran. This begging along with our efforts inshaAllah will
definitely bear fruits. If we dont even ask Allah, it simply means that we dont even care about
understanding Quran!
Message for Lesson No. 14
Dear Brothers/Sisters! Creating the environment of learning is extremely important. The 7+2
homeworks are designed to create that environment. Among these, carrying vocabulary card in
your pocket and referring to it 5 times a day makes your learning faster by 300% (in my opinion).
In addition to these, please print the posters (the short course poster as well as verb poster) and
paste them in your home and/or office to remind you. Develop a habit of studying them daily at
some suitable family get-together times.
Message for Lesson No. 15
Dear Brothers/Sisters! To succeed in any area, you have to first develop a habit (doing something
regularly). If you want to be physically fit, you have to have a habit of exercise. If you want to
excel in exams, you have to have a habit of studying regularly. Similarly, if you want to learn
Quran and develop the relationship with Allah, you have to develop a habit of devoting sometime
for it daily. Habit is combination of What to do & Why to do, How to do, and Desire to do.
That is, Knowledge+ Skill + Attitude. You already have knowledge (why to study the Quran), and
skill (how to learn Quran). All that is remaining now is: Attitude, i.e., Do I want to give time and
effort for learning Quran. Do I have desire to learn. If you stop studying Quran, focus on your
attitude instead of looking for other options. If you develop the attitude, you will never miss it,
inshaAllah. Plus 2 Homeworks (the supplications) help a lot to develop exactly the same. The
remaining tips will focus on developing the attitude, inshaAllah.

Dear Brothers/Sisters! While praying for the Prophet, pbuh, let us remember his sacrifices for us
and then remember his advice to us, Convey from me, even if it is one verse. How can we
convey the message when we ourselves do not understand it? It is not a matter of reading
translations only. It is a continuous training by the Quran when we keep pondering over its
meanings every time we listen to it. We have to convey the Quran with wisdom and beautiful
preaching. Quran gives us numerous examples of this through the life of different prophets. The
more we spend time with the Quran, the better we are trained and equipped to perform this noble
duty.
Message for Lesson No. 18
Dear Brothers/Sisters! If you really want to learn the Quran then make a plan. IF YOU FAIL TO
PLAN, YOU PLAN TO FAIL. I have seen people who started the course with enthusiasm but did
not continue for more than a couple of lessons. If you could not continue beyond a couple of
lessons, it is time that you form a team and restart it again. Remember that if you are alone,
Shaitaan can attack you easily.
The Prophet pbuh said: No people assemble in one of the houses of Allah, reciting the Book of
Allah and studying it among themselves, without tranquility descending upon them, Mercy (of
Allah) covering them, the angels surrounding them, and Allah making mention of them in the
presence of those near Him.'' [Muslim] So, instead of studying alone, why dont you plan to get 4
additional rewards which are easily achievable if you team up with your friends and learn together!
This will ensure continuity, consistency, and support from each other, in addition to benefiting
from each others learning.
Message for Lesson No. 19
Dear Brothers/Sisters! Quran is a book of guidance (not just a book of rules!). In modern terms,
it is also a book, in fact the ultimate book of Personality Development and success. It creates in a
person all those qualities that are essential for success. If you read the literature of modern-day
gurus of success literature, you will find that they talk about certain qualities essential for success.
These qualities are: Attitude, Confidence, Optimism, Positive Thinking, High Moral Values,
perseverance, Disciplined life, Good relationship with others, etc. No book or lecturer can instill
these values in a person as perfectly and effectively as the Quran. In addition to Tawheed and
Ibadah, these were the values which changed Sahabah and made them world leaders within no
time! Our vision is that Muslims should not take Al-Quran in the limited sense of Barakah but to
take as a book of Success, and study it with utmost attention and dedication. It will instill all the
values that are necessary to make a person great in this world and successful in the hereafter.
That is the comprehensive Barakah that Al-Quran came with.
Message for Lesson No. 20
Dear Brothers/Sisters! While talking about His beloved slaves, Allah says that they do not take the
Quranic verses like a deaf and blind person [Reference 20:73].
Make sure to understand the verses and take them to heart while you listen or read. So many of
us read these verses like a blind person, i.e., they read with their eyes but dont understand
them. They listen to them like a deaf person! Years pass by and they remain the same! That is
even worse! If we fail to plan to spend time for understanding Quran, we plan to remain, in a
sense, deaf and blind for the rest of our lives! How can we respond to the verses if we dont
understand them. Wont we like to be one of those beloved slaves to Allah?
Please plan to spend 200 hours as soon as possible in which you can learn to understand the
complete Quran.

Dear Brothers/Sisters! Many of us work for years to save the money to build a house in this world!
In general, when the house gets ready, people cross their middle age. And we know that we will
not live in such a house forever! Not even perhaps next 25 years. The more we live here, the
more problematic the old age becomes, in general! Some of us die before even start living in it.
WE ARE BUSY in generating money for this house and to enjoy the life in it (with families and
friends) in it and therefore do not have time for Al-Quran. The Prophet pbuh said: "The one who
was devoted to the Qur'an will be told on the Day of Resurrection: `Recite and ascend (in ranks)
as you used to recite when you were in the world. Your rank will be at the last Ayah you recite.'''
Based on this, some scholars say that there are as many grades of Paradise as the number of
verses (more than 6000!). Who does not want to get eternally promoted, and live in the best
state of health and facilities? Should we not GET BUSY for eternal promotion and the real
enjoyment? All it takes is the change in our attitude towards Al-Quran.

Dear Brothers/Sisters!
People before us were given a Book! About them, Allah says that their example is that of a
donkey which carries books (62:5). Why? Because they did not fulfill its rights (Believe, Recite,
Understand, Implement, Propagate).
Note that Allah is not joking here (astaghfirullah). He is extremely angry with those who did not
value the Book.
If we do not fulfill the rights of Quran, we will not be better than donkeys in His sight. It is as
simple as that.
Dont start counting the donkeys among people. Beware! Allah is angry here (astaghfirullah). THE
REAL OBJECTIVE OF GIVING THIS EXAMPLE IS TO ASK: Am I a donkey in the sight of Allah
(astaghfirullah).
And if I still say that I dont have time to recite, study, understand, implement, propagate then
am I not insisting to remain a donkey (even after knowing) ???
Dear Brothers/Sisters!
A standard reply that people have for not studying Quran is: I am busy. For them, here is an
example. Suppose our company announces, If you do 15 minutes overtime everyday, you will
get 25 % Salary increase. All of us will GRAB the opportunity. No one will say, I AM BUSY.
If we earn 2000 units (Dollar, Euros, Dirhams, ) per month. 25% of it will be 500, and per day it
will come to 20.
If I am ready for this job but not for Al-Quran, then in practical life, in a sense, the value of
Quran near me is not even 20!!!
There are some people who do study Quran but at a snails pace. For them, here is another
example. Suppose our company announces, If you do 200 extra hours of work in your service,
you will get 200,000 (whatever units of money). Do it 1 hr/day or 1 hr/week. Get 200,000 when
you complete 200 hours. Each one of us will try to complete 200 hours asap! No one will
complain of any time!
We will say: Let us do it asap, get the money, buy a house or car, and enjoy the rest of life.
Understanding Quran requires almost 200 hours of dedication. Once we do that, we can live the
rest of life in full Quranic light. Should we not complete it asap so that we can live the rest of our
lives in full Quranic light, under Allahs LIVE guidance?

Dear Brothers/Sisters!
In Disney World, Florida, there is a simulation ride, called Time-machine. You sit in a car in a big
dark hall and watch the screens (3D simulation). You feel as if you are traveling through skies and
coming back to earth to pass through jungles and dinosaurs
When you open the Quran, you can go for a true time and space ride. More than that! An
intellectual, emotional, and spiritual ride! There is nothing false (simulation) here! Quran is
kitabul-mastoor, a written book and the universe, with all its details including humans is kitabulmanzoor (an open book). You can travel to the future, look the endings of arrogant people and
those of pious people. You can go back in history and see absolutely true accounts of the best
and the worst people.
Have you seen a mother advising her child through stories and examples? Warning her child of
consequences of bad action? Allah is much more kind to us than a mother is to her child. While
taking us on this ride, He gives us a number of lessons and advice. More than that, we will find it
matching perfectly with our innate nature!
To go on this ride, just open the Quran with faith and devotion. Start reading it or listening to it.
Dear Brothers/Sisters!
Instead of selecting miscellaneous verses of Quran from here and there, we have
selected daily recitations in this course because:
These selections are a part of everyday practice
Revision is ensured automatically
Whenever any of these words appear in a new context, it will be much easier to
recall an example from such selections
Therefore, in this lesson, please try to remember an example for each one of these
almost 100 words.
While talking about any of the Surah or zikr, we tried to provide some Points or
commentary (taken from reliable sources). These points help us a lot:
1. They helps us to bring them into our lives (especially through Ask-EvaluatePlan-Propagate formula).
2. Add emotional and spiritual side to our learning (right side of the brain) and
therefore provides additional anchor to remember meanings.
3. Meanings (of keywords) helps us remember the message and the message
helps us remember the meanings of the rest of the words
Next time you read any part from Quran, try to identify the keywords, i.e.,
depending upon your choice, select some words which are key to message. They will
help you a lot in remembering the message as well as the meanings of the rest of the
words.
33
Dear Brothers/Sisters!
The most precious things that a man owns are his heart and his time. Time is life which can be
invested in good or bad and heart is the internal compass which directs a person to use it properly
through time, through days and nights.
The center of our spiritual and physical existence is our heart. All important activities are functions
of heart such as Iman (faith), Ikhlaas (sincerity), love of Allah, tawakkul (trust), sabr (patience),
shukr (thanksgiving), etc.
People do not want to do good things not because they dont know but because their hearts are
corroded. Some people say, we should work on faith. Understanding Quran is not that important.
But how can any other cure be better than what Allah has prescribed, as we shall see below.
The Prophet pbuh had said: Beware! There is a piece of flesh in the body. If that is good, the
whole body is good and if that is corrupted, the whole body gets corrupted.
On the Day of Judgment, wealth and children will not benefit. Only the one who comes with a
sound heart (free from evils) [26:89] or a heart turned in devotion to Allah [50:33].
Allah says about the Quran, O mankind! There has come to you an exhortation from your Lord
and a healing for the (diseases) in your hearts, So, Can anyone give a better cure than what
Allah has prescribed?
There are other cures too such as remembering death, doing zikr and Istighfar, establishing
regular prayers, avoiding sins, helping orphans and others, and committing ourselves to Islamic
activities.
Dear Brothers/Sisters!
Muslims in general have a big confusion about guidance contained in the Quran. They equate it
with rules and regulations, such as those of prayers, Zakat, Hajj, inheritance, or in general, the
Islamic system of life. But rules do not constitute even 10% of the Quran. What then does the
remaining 90% talk about? It is addressed to the mind and more importantly the heart. It is the
heart that needs to be guided. And if any one believes in Allah, (Allah) guides his heart (aright)
[64:11]. Quran is the cure of hearts [10:57].
As we noted in the last reminder, all of us commit sins day and night (according to Hadith) and we
need to keep our heart continuously clean by performing regular prayers, reciting Quran, and
other good deeds. NO ONE can claim that he does not need this maintenance.
How does Quran (which is nothing but Allah talking to us) guide? By describing realities of this
life through different ways, most prominent among them are:
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.
7.
8.
.
9. Rights of people
10. Why people reject the truth (Dawah, its challenges,) etc.
It addresses mind or ones intellect and more importantly his heart.
MOST IMPORTANTLY: No one can say the way Allah says it and No ones words can have as much
effect as Allahs words are.
Lastly, I would say, dont say you dont have time to sharpen the saw, i.e. to recite and
understand the Quran. All of us are running towards making this life happy and peaceful. And
that is exactly what Al-Quran is promising. Peace and happiness in this world and in the
hereafter. Al-Quran will sharpen our saw (of attitude) which will solve all the problems. It will be
a tragedy, a huge tragedy if we keep looking for happiness and peace somewhere else while Allah
out of His infinite Mercy had placed it right in front of us.
Dear Brothers / Sisters! Allah has chosen you to make you students of the Quran. It is the
biggest blessing when it comes to learning. Dont prove it otherwise. Dont reject His Mercy by
going away or discontinuing. Be the student of the Prophet (pbuh). Dont let Shaitaan make you
like the example of those who were given a book before us. Dont forget that this Quran will
make us go higher and higher both in this world and in the hereafter.
I keep wondering how intelligent Shaitaans strategy must have been. Almost 90% of us, the nonArab Muslims, dont understand the Quran. It is a catastrophic failure of our educational system.
How can we remain ignorant of a book that is the most important of all the books.
We, a billion Muslims, ask for guidance tens of times everyday (ihdinassiratal Mustaqeem), yet a
huge majority of us DONT EVEN FEEL THE NECESSITY to go to Quran for getting it.
We celebrate Ramadan after Ramadan, benefit (inshaAllah) from the huge rewards, which actually
is an annual gift of Allah in remembrance of the revelation of the Quran (Shahru Ramadaanalladhi
unzila feehil Quran). Yet there is no significant improvement in our relationship with the Quran.
We celebrate Lailatual-Qadr, try to get the huge reward of forgiveness, which again was granted in
remembrance of the Quran (Inna anzalnahu fee lailatulqadr). Yet we lag behind when it comes to
understanding the Quran.
Al-Quran is the ultimate and real solutions to the problems of Muslims Ummah. These problems
are mainly of two types. (i) Doubts (not enough belief that Quran can solve the problems, that
Quran guides us to everything, ); and (2) Desires (Even though we know something to be right,
we still dont do it. Muslims not united; Evils not going out; Morals not good; etc.). Al-Quran
solves both. It clears all our hidden doubts. It creates that impulse to overcome all types of
desires. If not, it simply means that Allahs voice is still not affecting our hearts and we need
more cleaning of hearts.
The challenge is huge. The responsibility is very big. We have to educate almost a billion nonArab Muslims in addition to conveying the message to the rest 7, 8 billion non-Muslims. Each one
of us need to join in this noble mission and spread the word.

A course of approximately 25 hours to help you learn around 300 words which occur approx. 55,000 times
(out of a total of approx. 78000 Qur'anic words; representing 70% of Qur'anic vocabulary in this sense) in the
Quran.
2.
Spare just 25 minutes everyday, and insha-Allah you are on your way to realizing the dream.
3.
Start the understanding of Quran using what you recite everyday!!! No need to look for any other text.
4.
Immediately start realizing the benefits in your prayers and supplications, and thereby improve the relationship
with Allah. Practice what you learnt right form day one. Start practicing what you learn by talking to Allah in Arabic
with understanding!
5.
Each session is interactive, if conducted in a group!!! Every participant has full and continuous chance to be
involved in all the activities (Spoken Arabic, Grammar, and Word-for-word translation) throughout the session.
6.
Each session has 3 different activities, which keeps the participants alive throughout the session. Learn at least
one spoken Arabic sentence in each session. Learn basic Arabic Grammar as well as almost all important verb
patterns by devoting just 8 to 10 minutes in each session.
7.
Learning Arabic Grammar perhaps has never been so easy and simple. A new approach to the practice of
grammar, i.e., TPI, Total Physical Interaction. Think it, see it, say it, and show it. One of the most effective and
easiest techniques to overcome the most difficult part of learning the faala table (conjugation of a verb). This is
the lesson where generally people give up learning Arabic. With TPI, it becomes just the opposite, i.e., most
exciting and interesting part.
8.
Every time you practice a grammar session (5 to 7 minutes), you are shown how closer you are to the
understanding of Quran. Therefore, it becomes a session of love and excitement rather than that of boring drills.
9.
Learn interesting examples/false links to remember some of the odd rules of grammar.
10.
Revise the whole learning in SPECIAL 10 sessions (at the end) where all frequently occurring words in the
Quran are listed separately.
11.
To remember important words, each word/verb that you have learnt is listed with an example for you to
practice, remember, and retain. Every time you forget an important new word, you are given a context for it to
recall.
12.
Learn all important verb patterns thoroughly along with examples from the material covered in the first 50
sessions.
13.
16 quizzes and 2 exams (in the WORKBOOK) to help you evaluate your progress and encourage you to revise
and continue.
14.
With the CD (produced by the Academy), participate along with the audience throughout these sessions. You
dont have to wait for another sitting for practice. Practice right there! A CD containing mp3 files of the complete
course (60 sessions) is also available. Recently, a brief recorded version of the course (4 hours) is also produced.
Actually this is a basic training course for every Muslim. It contains those parts which are practiced everyday by a
Muslim. Therefore this course is will have direct impact on his life. It will make his regular worship more efficient and
effective. Simultaneously he will get the confidence that he can learn the Quran very easily. In view of this, this course
can be an excellent basic resource for every Muslim family, school, or organization.
