Wrote 12 original pieces following the 2012 election and issues affecting Third Congressional District of Interviewed members of Congress and their staff, advocacy groups, National Forest Service officers and sources in Colorado. Wrote front page story on effects of climate change and depleted firefighting air tankers fleet September-December 2011

The Washington Examiner-Metro Intern

Covered the D.C. metro area, wrote daily stories on local business and politics. Created enterprise piece on dorm safety at D.C.-area universities. Tracked trends of sexual assault at local schools, interviewed public safety officers, as well as students on local campuses. Assisted crime reporters with court cases and covered high-profile murder trial in Bethesda, Maryland. March-May 2011
