WE MUST CONSERVE OUR WATER SECURITY FOR INCREASING POPULATION FROM FOSSIL FUEL EXPLOITATION

Coal + Coal Seam Gas Mining may further:

Degrade ecology, heighten fire risk in catchments

Australias health-sustaining water supply is under serious threat

Rising Population means:

Increased water demand Increased greenhouse gases Increased land demand
Very heavy prolonged downpours

Climate Change will cause:

Rising temperatures & extremes of rainfall

Emit fugitive methane and greenhouse gases Risk leaks, spills & accidents Remove massive quantities of water

More very hot very dry days

Record floods spreading contaminants into water supplies

Compete with renewable energy development

Access to biologically and toxicologically clean water of sufficient quantity is an undisputed fundamental requirement of human health as well as a fundamental human right We have many choices with our energy sources but we have no choice with our precious water: we need every drop. Coal, coal seam gas and other unconventional gas mining possess risk in our water catchment areas! Current and future human health and welfare in Australia must be our governments highest priority.

TAKE NO RISKS WITH WATER CATCHMENTS PROTECT ACCESS TO CLEAN WATER FOR CURRENT & FUTURE GENERATIONS
