Product Development R&D Manager supervising both hardware and software engineering teams.

Responsibilities: Implements strategy and tactical plans for their department. Reviews with the Engineering Director. - Meets and agrees these with the operational & technical leadership teams - Prepares and achieves department cost budgets for approval. - Forecasts headcount for the department on a quarterly basis. - Ensures departmental average utilization is achieved to achieve budget. - Communicates resource loading on a regular basis to Engineering Director. - Develops/contributes/follows departmental and company procedures. - Identify hiring needs and make recommendations for hiring in area of discipline. - Effectively delegates project and proposal activities. - Provides coaching and mentoring to support. - Leads and executes projects as required. - Leads proposals and selling activities as required. - Builds and maintains peer relationships with global colleagues. - Develops career plans which encourages and supports staff development. - Is an appropriate role model. - Accountable for individual and team delivery. Qualifications: - Bachelor Degree in Engineering - Master’s Degree or PH.D. in engineering preferred - 15+ years of related experience in field - Ability to effectively communicate on various levels
