Mean- add up all the numbers in a set and divide that by the Number of data items.
Ex. 1, 3,5,7,11,13
1+3+5+7+11+13=30
Mean=30/6=5

Median- That number in a set that half of the numbers, when ordered, in the set are bigger
than it, and the other half are smaller than it in the case when there is an odd number of
numbers. If there are an even number of items, you take the 2 middle number, and find
their mean.
Ex. Of odd number of items in the set: 1, 5, 12, 19,24,34,39
Ex. Of even number of items in the set: 1, 5, 12, 19, 24, 34,39,47
We need to find the mean of numbers 19 and 24, which is (19+24)/2=21.5

Mode- The number in a set that occurs the most frequently.

2,1,9,3,2,76,4,2,6,2
Mode=2 because it occurs most often in the set

2
Prime Composite, Odd, Even, Abundant, and
Deficient

Prime number- a number that only has factors of one and itself
(No prime number is divisible by 2)

Composite number- a number that has more than just 1 and itself as its factors.
(Also all composite numbers are divisible by 2)

Odd number- A number that is not divisible by 2.

(1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, etc. are all examples of odd numbers)

Even number- a number that is divisible by 2.

(2, 4, 6, 8, 10, etc. are all examples of even numbers)

Abundant number- A number that if you add up all its factors (not including 1 and the
number) it is greater than the number itself.
(Not every composite number is abundant)

Deficient number- a number that if you add up all the factors of the number (not
including 1 and the number) it is less than the number itself.
(Every prime number is deficient)
