- The Lord’s Resistance Army was formed in 1987 under Joseph Kony in Northern Uganda. - The LRA is a guerilla rebel group aimed to overthrow the Ugandan government.

- Over 20,000 children have been abducted and used by the LRA.
- Children were forced drugs and made to fight. - Other children were kept as laborers and sex slaves. - Facial and bodily mutilation of civilians was common during their attacks. - Children walked for hours every evening for Ugandan protection to avoid overnight abduction (“Nightwalkers”) - More than 300,000 children under the age of 18 are still being used as armed soldiers worldwide.
