Tennis is played by 2 people It is also played by 4 people. This is called doubles. Men or women can play. When men and women play together it is called mixed doubles.

There are 4 major tournaments: French Open Wimbledon Australian Open US Open

The major tournaments are played on different surfaces: The French Open is played on clay Wimbledon is played on grass The Australian Open is played on a hard court The US Open is also played on a hard court

Men play 3 or 5 sets. Women play 2 or 3 sets.

Players get points: Love, 15, 30, 40 then game point. If players both have 40 points this is called deuce. The next point is called advantage.

The world number 1 mens player is Novak Djokovic.

The world number 1 womens player is Serena Williams.
