Attending: M Rea (Chair), M Allen (Minutes), Inspector Mark Thompson, Sgt Martin Alvis, PC Steven Harvey, PC Michael Tripp, Miranda Gilmour (Wiltshire Council) and members of the public 1. Apologies for absence Simon Killane, Bill Sykes, PC Rachel Webb, Ray Sanderson 2. Minutes of last meeting Agreed unanimously 3. News and Police priorities Malmesbury Town Motoring: 5 caught Speeding on Sherston Rd/Bristol St. Tetbury Hill no evidence of speeding found Station Yard no problems at the moment. The more it is used by the public the less problems there will be. Police continue to keep an eye on this area. Town Council are planning to put a couple of CCTV cameras down there. CCTV: Recent work regarding CCTV has been positive and it is working OK. Anti-social behaviour: Very low at the moment. The shutting of the Guildhall pub has helped with this & it no longer has a license. Crimes: 2 break-ins to steal cigarettes not believed to be local criminals investigations continue. Partner working: Doing lots of productive work with GreenSquare. Online: Malmesbury Police Facebook page is going very well and averaging 5,000 visits a week. It is the most successful Police Facebook

site in Wiltshire. Malmesbury Rural Traffic: 14 cautions for speeding, 2 cars seized for having no insurance, 2 charges of drink driving. 5 dwelling burglaries investigations ongoing. Pub break in in Lea. Some shed burglaries in Sherston and oil theft in Luckington. Malmesbury Town & Malmesbury Rural have both set their priority on traffic related matters and high profile policing. This will involve issues from speeding to inconsiderate parking, drink driving, driving whilst unfit through drugs, and of course supporting our valuable teams of volunteers out their in the community carrying out speed watch. Ashton Keynes and Minety Following a handbag theft at The Potting Shed in Crudwell a person has been arrested and charged and is going to trial. Little crime going on, ASB down, no dwelling burglaries, only minor incidents of violence and vehicle robberies. The Wheatsheaf Pub was broken into but the criminals were disturbed. A caravan full of waste was dumped in Waterhay car park. Oaksey: there have been problems with a person driving recklessly through the village. Police need people to call them to build enough evidence to prosecute. Priority: Speeding & driving behaviour particularly Upper Minety and Oaksey.

4. Other Issues If you think a crime is in progress dial 999, otherwise contact 101. Neighbourhood Watch: no report will ask Ian Mace to invite all NW coordinators to next CSF. Community Speedwatch: Miranda Gilmour said that back office problems are now being addressed. The success of CSW needs publicising. Sherston scheme is ongoing, Luckington is struggling for numbers, Malmesbury has been re-started Martin Alvis to check status with Ray Sanderson.

Police and CSW teams are not getting stats on results and origin of driver, outcomes etc. Miranda said that this should work better once the back office issues have been sorted out. 6 Date of next meetings Wednesday 26th June 2013 7:30pm Venue: Malmesbury Fire Station
