Think-Tac-Toe Vocabulary Each week, pick two activities to complete with the vocabulary words from THAT WEEK.

Write the day the words are due on the Think-Tac-Toe box. You CANNOT reuse an activity. When you turn the activity in, label it with the activity number at the top.

1.

Use eight of your words in a well-developed paragraph. Look up any words you do not know before beginning.

Create a crossword puzzle using all of the words from your list. Make an answer key for the puzzle so that your teachers could use it in class.

Create a word wall picture for your word. The word wall word must include: Your assigned word A definition (in your own words) A picture of your word Important information about the word A related words category include 5-7 other words related in a mathematical sense. Create a vocabulary cartoon that includes: Vocabulary terms Phoenetic Spelling Brief description of the word A sentences that uses the vocabulary term A cartoon related to the word

Write a pop culture song or rap using eight of the words from the list. Your song must include appropriate words and show some knowledge of the mathematical concepts the words are related to.

Use your words in a dialogue where two people are discussing the subject. The dialogue should be properly punctuated and should accurately reflect knowledge of the words in a mathematical context. Underline the spelling words.

7.

Create at least 5 word problems using ALL of your words at least once. The word problems must use concepts learned in your math class this year. Type the problems and provide an answer sheet on a separate sheet of paper WITH WORK SHOWN.

Use five of the words in sentences which show understanding of context clues. Context clues might be example clues, compare and contrast and inference clues. DO NOT RESTATE THE DEFINITION IN THE SENTENCE

Write all of your vocabulary words on a sheet of paper (skip two lines between each word). Highlight any Greek or Latin roots or prefixes or suffixes and write the meaning of the root or word part. Then explain how each root or word part gives you a clue about the word. If a word has NO roots or word parts, explain why you think it doesnt have any.
