I. 1.

Translate the following sentences from English to Chinese. A: I’d like to give him a call. B: Don’t call. He is not home right now. He won’t go home until after 5:00 p.m.


A: Hello! Professor Wang, how are you? This is Gao Wenzhong. B: A. B. Hi, is there anything that I can do for you? I’d like to go to your office at 3:00 this afternoon. Is that okay? Sure. I’ll wait for you in my office.


A: When are you free today? B: I have 3 classes today and won’t be free till 2:30 p.m. What’s the matter?

A: I’d like to ask you to practice Chinese with me. B: No problem, but you have to treat me with coffee.


Write an e-mail message to your Chinese friend to see if he/she can practice Chinese with you tomorrow evening. Indicate where and when you will meet up. Also, promise him/her that you will buy him/her a cup of coffee afterwards.
